How to connect?

You can use this small checklist to see what you need to connect:

1. Line of sight to one of the Megha Net locations. You can see PointOfPrecense list here to find your nearest.
2. Some wireless equipment. If you already have, then fine, if not, then you can buy from us cheaply.
3. An account with megha.net

Internet usage

Once connected, you can use the Internet as much as you like. However, it is a shared network, and the available bandwidth will be shared among the active users. This means that during peak hours, you can experience slow speeds. However our goal is to have atleast 5kbytes/s at any time for each user.

In general, if you need to download software or check email, then please use the local servers. You can find these on the website. These are much faster to access than external sites. Eg. if you use hotmail or yahoo mail then consider changing to a megha.net email instead, see http://webmail.megha.net.

You can connect as many computers as you like to your local network. However, only one MAC address on the intranet is allowed per account. If you purchase a bridge, you can only connect one computer, unless you also have a router. A HUB og Switch is not enough.
